Job Advert

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay.  This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff.  This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours.  However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.  If you have any questions or concerns please contact the Recruiting Board.

NHSGGC has successfully obtained Scottish Government funding to develop a three year AHP Long Covid Service, which has seen the development of a team of highly skilled Advanced Practice Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists. Funding is confirmed until March 2025. This is a boardwide service that operates a hybrid model of working at home, across the community visiting patients and attending the base supporting patients with Long Covid to self-manage their condition. We are looking for an Occupational Therapist. Who will be able to demonstrate highly developed clinical skills which are transferrable in the management of long term conditions. Any experience in management of long term conditions, or mental health services will be beneficial. The candidate should be enthusiastic and driven to develop a new service and pathway across specialist and primary/universal care. Training, professional supervision and support will be offered to develop and enhance clinical specialism. A Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy and HCPC registration are essential for the post. The candidate will have relevant post graduate experience, including experience of working within, physical rehab or mental health with ability to utilize transferable skills into this workstream. This post requires PVG Scheme Membership/Disclosure Scotland Check. Evidence of ability to work as a team player with good communication skills are both essential for this post. A current driving licence is essential.
