POST: 1.0 WTE SPECIALTY DOCTOR SKYE HOUSE
BASE: SKYE HOUSE REGIONAL ADOLESCENT INPATIENT PSYCHIATRY SERVICE, STOBHILL HOSPITAL.
This post offers the chance to deliver medical care (physical and mental health care) within an inpatient psychiatric service for young people up to 18 years in a regional inpatient setting. The service is a centre of excellence and the post will likely be sometimes demanding but always interesting. As a regional service there are opportunities not only for liaison with young people, families and multi-agency colleagues but also to develop links with colleagues across the 5 West of Scotland referring Health Boards and with the other two inpatient services for young people in Scotland (in Edinburgh and Dundee). The post holder will join an experienced medical team of Consultant, SAS and psychiatry trainee colleagues as well as being supported by a cohesive and well-functioning multidisciplinary team. Candidates must have full GMC Registration and a license to practice. You will have a minimum of 4 years full time post graduate training ( or its equivalent gained on a part-time or flexible basis) at least one of which will be in a Psychiatry training programme or can evidence equivalent experience and competencies.
