To carry out initial assessments of detainees with a view to identifying any pressing medical needs, determining fitness to detain, fitness to interview; fitness for custody, fitness for release; fitness for court whilst in the custody of Police Scotland, with access to Forensic Medical Examiner opinion when required.

The post holder will travel throughout the South East of Scotland Region when required and as determined by service needs

This post requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership/ record. If the post holder is not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group (i.e. child and/or adult) then an application will need to be made to Disclosure Scotland and deemed satisfactory before they can begin in post.
