The shift pattern is 37 hours per week Five out of seven days

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and self-motivated pharmacist to participate in a training rotational split role between Primary Care Pharmacy and the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley which will enable you to develop your clinical practice and work with healthcare teams within both sectors. This role will support delivery of the GMS contract and improve patient care. The post holder will undertake ‘The Pharmacist Vocational Training Programme – Foundation Framework’ You should have a sound clinical knowledge, good IT skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be able to prioritise workload to meet the demands of the service.

The objectives of the team are to improve the quality and cost effectiveness of prescribing and medicines use for patients across NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde. You will work closely with colleagues in the HSCP Pharmacy Team, GPs, other practice staff, community pharmacists, hospital pharmacy team, care home staff, members of the primary and acute healthcare team and central team colleagues in supporting the development and application of high quality, safe, cost effective, rational and evidence based prescribing in the Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP). Applicants should be members of the General Pharmaceutical Council of Great Britain. This post requires PVG Scheme Membership/Disclosure Scotland Check.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay.  This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff.  This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours.  However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.  If you have any questions or concerns please contact the Recruiting Board.
