Consultant
Oncologist in Breast Cancer Sarcoma

Applicants must have full GMC Registration, a license to practise and eligible for inclusion in the GMC Specialist Register. Those trained in the UK should have evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT or be within 6 months of confirmed entry from the date of interview. CESR (Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration) route doctors are only eligible to apply for a substantive consultant post once CESR is awarded. Non-UK applicants must demonstrate equivalent training.
Applications are welcome for the above Permanent, full time (40 hours per week) post based in Western General Hospital.
The breast clinical oncology service is responsible for treatment of patients from across the SCAN region. There are 2 MDTs per week and multiple new patient and follow-up clinics at the Western General Hospital where oncology patients from Lothian (not West) are seen, with other clinics running across the SCAN region at St John’s Hospital, Livingston; Queen Margaret Hospital, Fife (QMH), Borders General Hospital and Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary (DGRI). Systemic treatments are delivered at all SCAN sites, with radiotherapy services being delivered centrally at the Edinburgh Cancer Centre, Western General Hospital.
