Position:
An opportunity has arisen within Sexual Health Team for a Psychosexual Counsellor based at Ayrshire Central Hospital.
What you will do:
As part of the multidisciplinary team within sexual health services you will be responsible for managing your own caseload of clients who are experiencing psychosexual problems.
You will be expected to provide short term evidence based interventions for clients with sexual problems, taking a flexible approach, using as appropriate individual and couple counselling, and psychological and behavioural interventions. Also providing onward referral to other services as required.
You will contribute to multidisciplinary staff teaching in responding to psychosocial needs of service users. Also contributing to audit and research in service development and clinical governance.

Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job:
For this position you should possess a recognised professional qualification to diploma level 9 or equivalent in sex and relationships counselling accredited by the College of Sexual and Relationship Therapists (COSRT) or Institute of Psychosexual Medicine (IPM).
