Post - Physiotherapy Assistant Practitioner
Location – Findlay House
Grade - Band 4
Contract – Permanent
Hours of work – 37 hours
We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and dynamic person to join our physiotherapy team and be part of the bed based Intermediate Care Service currently based at Findlay House.
You will be a key member of the team and work closely with registered physiotherapists to deliver rehabilitation to older people. As a physiotherapy assistant practitioner, you will be allocated a delegated patient caseload by the registered physiotherapist and undertake simple assessments, progress treatments, reassess and discharging patients within the roles scope of practice.
The service supports staff development through appraisal, supervision and CPD opportunities. Key attributes for this post include excellent communication and interpersonal skills, knowledge and understanding of the role of a physiotherapist in rehabilitation and experience of working in a team. Candidates must display evidence of clinical experience in a variety of areas ideally including older peoples care and rehabilitation and will have relevant / current experience as a band 3 therapy support worker, or as a band 4 assistant practitioner.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
