Applications are invited for a Locum Appointment for Training (LAT) Specialty Registrar (ST3) in Chemical Pathology to join the current team at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. The post includes duties in the Parenteral Nutrition Service, Lipid Clinic, Obesity Clinic, Inherited Metabolic Disease Clinic and Duty Biochemist rota. The post will offer opportunities for teaching and research.

The Clinical Biochemistry Department provides Comprehensive Core, Immunoassay, Point of Care, Specialist Protein, Metabolic and Toxicology Services to the North-East of Scotland, including Specialist Biochemistry services to the Orkney and Shetland Islands involving a total catchment population of over 600,000. The Department is accredited by the UK Accreditation Service (UKAS ISO 15189).
Aberdeen, the 'silver city' in the North-East of Scotland, boasts some excellent schools and leisure facilities. It provides the ideal environment for work-life balance with ease of access to the coast and some of the most spectacular countryside in the UK. There are ample opportunities for outdoor leisure and sporting activities.
The appointee is required to be a team player, and to fulfil the duties described in the job description. The post is offered on a whole time equivalent basis. Candidates who wish to work less than full-time will also be considered.
