Position

An opportunity has arisen for a permanent Principal Clinical Psychologist for Medical Paediatric Psychology based at University Hospital Crosshouse.

We would welcome interest in this post from recently qualified Clinical Psychologists, as well as final year Trainees on a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology Programme.

Hours:

26 Hours per Week

Variation in these contractual hours may also be considered.

What you will do:

This is an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Psychologist with a passion for Paediatric Psychology to join our small specialist team of Psychologists and contribute to the delivery of a psychologically-informed multi-disciplinary service. Our team is dedicated to supporting children, young people and their families experiencing acute, chronic and/or life limiting physical health conditions.

You will be part of our committed team, working closely with a range of medical and allied healthcare professionals within the specialist multidisciplinary teams based within University Hospital Crosshouse, which is an easy commute from Glasgow.  This service is well-established and highly valued by colleagues within paediatrics. You will also work within the general paediatric service and will contribute to specialist teams in an inpatient and outpatient basis, offering consultancy, direct patient care and contributing to the development of these services.

Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job:

You should hold a BPS approved postgraduate degree in Clinical Psychology or BPS Statement of Equivalence. You should also hold post-graduate doctoral level training in clinical/counselling psychology (or its equivalent for those trained prior to 1996) as accredited by the BPS, including specifically models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics and neuropsychology, two or more distinct psychological therapies and lifespan developmental psychology

Registration with HCPC as a Practitioner Clinical Psychologist is essential to this post.

Trainee Clinical Psychologists would not be expected to be HCPC registered at the point of applying for the post, but would need to have attained registration before they would be eligible to commence the post.
