To this end, NHS Scotland welcomes applications from all sections of society.

In support of our core purpose of Working together to achieve the healthiest life possible for everyone in Ayrshire & Arran we are committed to a culture that is Caring, Safe and Respectful.  The post holder is required to work collaboratively in a safe, caring and respectful way.

NHS Ayrshire & Arran’s pharmacy team provides pharmaceutical care and advice across primary and secondary care with strong links to Community Pharmacy Ayrshire & Arran.  We provide clinical services to two acute hospital sites, two mental health sites, five community hospitals, the Intermediate Care Teams in each of our three Health and Social Care Partnerships and we provide pharmacotherapy services to 53 GP practices.  Ayrshire & Arran are participating in the Primary Care Phased Improvement Programme which offers exciting opportunities to test new service models for the delivery of pharmacy services in General Practice.

This post offers an aspiring pharmacy leader the opportunity to shape pharmacy services in primary care and mental health, to shape education and training of pharmacy staff across the whole health and care system and to work with Community Pharmacy colleagues as the Board and East, North and South Ayrshire Health and Social Care Partnerships work together to deliver our vision: Caring for Ayrshire.  Caring for Ayrshire is an ambitious programme to design health and care services fit for the future for everyone in Ayrshire & Arran.  In addition to a strong background in pharmacy practice and leadership skills the postholder will be someone that is highly motivated, has a track record in change management, has a desire to develop all members of the pharmacy team from students to advanced practice and beyond, who can work effectively as part of multiple teams, works across boundaries and inspires others.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential as is the ability to work effectively as part of the multidisciplinary team.
