Job Advert

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay.  This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff.  This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours.  However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.  If you have any questions or concerns please contact the Recruiting Board.

(Please note the salary is Pro Rata) for part time hours.

A 12 month fixed term vacancy for a Consultant Clinical or Counselling Psychologist has arisen in the Stobhill Psychiatric Inpatient Service due to maternity leave.

The Inpatient Psychology service at Stobhill Hospital delivers a high quality service to acute admissions units, mental health rehabilitation wards and an intensive psychiatric care unit. The team comprises of this post, 3 part time Principle Clinical Psychology staff, and works closely with MDT staff across the site.

Applications are invited from Clinical or Counselling Psychologists, registered as such with HCPC, with substantial post-qualification experience in adult mental health and the supervision and leadership of other psychology and MDT staff. Experience in an inpatient setting is desirable.

The successful candidate will join the wider psychology department which brings together the North East Glasgow/East Dunbartonshire Psychology Departments, and have access to a range of professional development and CPD opportunities.

For existing NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde staff a secondment may be considered with existing line manager support.

The hours for this post are 18.5 per week and can be agreed with the successful candidate; but these must include Tuesday 9am to 5pm and Wednesday 9am to 1pm.

Informal enquiries can be made to Dr Jackie Smith, Psychology Professional Lead on 0141 232 1200 or Jacqueline.Smith@ggc.scot.nhs.uk
