Position:

A position has become available for a Day/Night Duty Clerical Officer based at University Hospital Ayr. This post is based within the Emergency Department Reception and you will work over a 7 week shift rotation (day shift/night shift) .


What you will do:

Based within the Emergency Department Reception , you will provide a clerical service to clinicians throughout the division, ensuring that procedures are in place to initiate and maintain accurate and up to date patient case records to support clinical care.  Duties include the maintenance and filing of patients confidential records, recording patient related data, admissions and booking out-patient appointments using the computerised Patient Management System.  Providing reception services, answering telephones and relaying messages

Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job:

You are required to be proficient in, have knowledge of, or undertake training in the following:-

  • Knowledge acquired through relevant experience, or SVQ Level 2 in Administration /Information Technology or equivalent.
  • ECDL or equivalent.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
