NHS Borders are delighted to be inviting applicants to join our Borders Addictions Service (BAS) as band 3 support worker. This is a fantastic lifestyle changing opportunity to work in the Scottish Borders and experience the benefits of rural life with very easy access to major cities such as Edinburgh (37 Miles) Glasgow (75 miles) and Newcastle (75 miles).
BAS is looking to recruit 1 support worker to its team.
The support worker will work as a member of a multidisciplinary/multi-service working in both a clinical setting as well as the more informal Drop-ins, looking to offer holistic care and support for people with addiction issues provided across the Scottish Borders,
You will have the opportunity to work with-in this innovative nationally recognised team being the only NHS board in Scotland to meet the first 5 Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) standards.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period, for which you would be paid, until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
