The Role

The purpose of this role is to facilitate the development of relationships with key stakeholders, with a view to implementing our engagement framework and developing our co-production approach to support NHS Lanarkshire’s delivery of our strategic vision through Our Health Together.  The role-holder will design and facilitate opportunities for staff and stakeholders to develop a vision for co-production based on available research and benchmarked practice, converting that vision into a strategy and action plan for NHS Lanarkshire. The post holder will require to work across our system to build skills and capacity for co-production with NHS and HSCP colleagues.

The role-holder will work in close collaboration with NHS Lanarkshire staff, North and South Lanarkshire HSCP, and the organisation’s key stakeholders, including service providers and service users. The successful candidate will need to be proactive about building these relationships, securing their input to support and implement co-productive approaches across NHS Lanarkshire’s health and social system.

Whilst the post holder will report to the Head of Planning and Development the focus of their work will also be influenced by the engagement activities within the Communication and Quality Directorates to ensure a connected approach to engagement.

The role will have primary responsibility to advise and support the strategic direction and performance management of the public and our staff involvement agenda including strategic frameworks, strategies

The post holder will produce reports for NHS Lanarkshire and monitor and evaluate involving people activity.

The post holder will be required to provide an expert, strategic leadership role to ensure that NHS Lanarkshire meets its legislative duties to involve people in decisions affecting NHS Lanarkshire’s services locally and regionally.

The post holder will provide leadership to ensure that involving people duties and responsibilities are adhered to when designing, developing and delivering services across NHS Lanarkshire.

What we'll need you to bring

  • Educated to Postgraduate Degree at Masters Level, or equivalent.
  • Experience of engaging and involving service users and/or stakeholders in activities to inform organisational change and/or co-production (could be in public sector or charity/third sector)
  • Evidence of a substantial understanding of the concept of co-production
  • Quantitative and Qualitative research methods and statistics
  • Training/experience of Marketing and/or public Communication/ stakeholder engagement
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills - an ability to work with people from different backgrounds and experiences
  • Experience of planning and providing advice and challenge to senior leadership
  • Developing and maintaining working relationships with community/voluntary groups
  • Ability to manage and develop complex stakeholder relationships to achieve consensus and action
  • Previous roles demonstrating experiences making complex information and processes engaging and easy to understand for a range of audiences
  • Experience of working within the Diverse communities served
  • Previous experience facilitating and organising meetings, events, training and workshops
  • Ability to innovate within a challenging and changing landscape
  • A genuine interest in making a difference and delivering change for the people
