An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Medical Education Department as an Undergraduate Coordinator.

Your remit will include coordinating clinical placements for medical students from the Universities of Edinburgh, Dundee and St Andrews. You will be the first point of contact for students as well as teaching staff in NHS Fife and external University staff. You will be expected to organise teaching events, oversee quality control of undergraduate medical education and have an insight into the Additional Cost of Teaching (ACT) budget. The role will allow you to make a vital contribution to medical students experience and allow you to analyse the quality of teaching the students receive whilst on placement in NHS Fife.

You should  have the ability to use their own initiative. They must also be professional in their approach at all times, along with possessing excellent organisational and communication skills as well as a flexible approach to working.

Applications on a secondment basis will be considered providing you have prior agreement from your current line manager.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay.  This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff.  This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours.  However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.  If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Recruiting Board.
