As we prepare for The Baird Family Hospital and progress with NHS Grampian’s strategy for 2022-2028, The Plan for the Future, we are very keen to offer the above opportunity for a midwife(s) who are passionate to develop their knowledge and skills as a clinical expert midwifery leader, Senior Charge Midwife (SCM).

The role will include working alongside and be mentored by the experienced SCM team to enhance knowledge, skills and confidence in being the clinical midwifery leader for Labour Ward.

There will be opportunities to carry the bleep and have bleep holding responsibility supported by Midwifery Managers. 

There will be opportunities to visit and work in other areas within maternity services. A personalised development plan will be made with the successful midwife(s) depending on previous experience to achieve the following:

A wider knowledge and understanding of:

  • The work and skill set required in other areas
  • The challenges of workforce and workload in other areas
  • To build supportive working relationships

You will aspire to always deliver a consistent and compassionate organisational culture, building and sustaining professional relationships.
