NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.
The shift pattern is 5 over 7 including weekends and PH’s. 7.5 Hour shifts between 08.30 – 21.30 hrs.
NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week. We are delighted to offer an exciting and innovative Trainee Assistant Practitioner role within Renfrewshire HSCP Community Nursing Services. As a Trainee Assistant Practitioner you will work under the supervision of a registered practitioner, to provide high quality care and treatment as a member of the care giving team informed by excellent communication, analysis of information, planning and organisational skills, complying with legislation.
Trainee Assistant Practitioners will attend college one day per week during the first 24 week and 1.5 days during the last 12 weeks of the programme. Candidates must be willing to undertake the 36 week programme alongside working in a clinical environment. Candidates will undertake a Professional Development Award (PDA) in Acute and Community Care (SCQF Level 8). The course is likely to commence September 2024, and the successful applicant will require to undertake the 36 week module.
· Please note that during the required training period, you will be paid under the
Agenda For Change Band 3 - Trainee Assistant Practitioner £25,468 -
£27,486.
· On full completion of the required criteria, this post will be aligned to the
Agenda for Change Band 4 Assistant Practitioner Role, which attracts the
salary of £27,598 - £30,019.
