Job Advert

Fixed term for 12 months.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work within the Acute Services Division Medical  Directorate Admin Team, providing a comprehensive secretarial and administrative service to our Service Managers.

You should have experience of working in a busy office environment, with relevant experience in a secretarial and administrative post, providing a dedicated service to an individual or team.  Alongside proven administrative and secretarial experience you should possess excellent communication, organisational and problem solving skills.   You should have a working knowledge of all Microsoft packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook). Knowledge and understanding of common office practices, including minute taking and audio/copy typing are essential; knowledge of NHS procedures and practices or experience in a public sector environment would be an advantage.

You are required to be a flexible individual, with the ability to work on your own or as part of a team.  A level of English language competency and communication skills necessary to perform this role safely and effectively is also required.

Applications on a secondment basis will be considered providing you have prior agreement from your current line manager.

For informal enquiries, please contact Kerry Thomson, Admin & Secretarial Services Manager on 01592 643355 extension 21681.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay.  This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff.  This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours.  However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.  If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Recruiting Board.

NHS Fife is legally obliged to ensure all its employees are legally entitled to work in the United Kingdom. If you are not a United Kingdom (UK) or Irish National, you are required to confirm your right to work in your application.

NHS Scotland is committed to encouraging equality and diversity among our workforce and eliminating unlawful discrimination.
