Applications are welcome for the above Permanent, full time (3705 hours per week) post based in Duncan Street Dental Centre.
We are looking for a dentist with a minimum of 2 years post qualification experience to join the Public Dental Service in Lothian. We currently have a permanent vacancy in the Special Care Dental Team.
The Special Care Dental Team provides specialist and specialised services under GDS regulations to adult patients with a wide range of special care needs, including those with medically compromising conditions, patients with mental health conditions, hospital in-patients, care home residents and dentally anxious patients. Treatment facilities include acute sites, community clinics and domiciliary care. A full range of treatment modalities is available including conscious sedation and day case general anaesthesia.
We are looking for a self-motivated individual with excellent communication, patient management and clinical skills who can demonstrate team working, flexibility and adaptability in a varied and busy clinical service.
This would be an ideal appointment for someone wishing to develop their skills in Special Care Dentistry, either with a view to a career within the PDS, or for those considering formal specialty training.
Applicants should have full GDC registration and an NHS list number or be eligible for one.
A specific job plan will be confirmed on appointment dependent on the specific interests and experience of successful candidates, together with the specific needs of the service.
