What you will do:
You will ensure the delivery of high quality, safe and person centered care and require to have in-depth knowledge and experience of ASU care, telemedicine, brain imaging, thrombolysis and thrombectomy. You will be involved in the teaching and education of junior staff. You will be responsible for supporting the phase one implementation of thrombectomy therefore a sound knowledge of thrombectomy is essential.
You are invited from highly motivated registered nurses with in-depth knowledge, understanding and experience of these services. You will be an experienced practitioner with the ability to rise to the challenge of assisting the Senior Charge Nurse in leading and developing the team. You will work effectively within the multidisciplinary team ensuring the provision of evidence based care to the highest standard possible.

Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job:
- You will be a Registered Nurse with current NMC registration.
- Completed all Stroke specific training.
- Competent to order brain imaging in line with local policy.
- Competent to manage CVAD.
- Extended stroke skills and knowledge.
- Experience in screening TIA referrals deciding on most appropriate pathway.
- Experience of undertaking training sessions to nursing staff, students, ANPs.

From 1 April 2024, the working week for NHS Agenda for Change workers in Scotland will be reduced. Full-time hours will reduce from 37.5 to 37 hours (pro rata for part-time staff) without loss of earnings.
NHS Ayrshire and Arran will implement this change but it may not be possible to fully transition from 1 April and there may therefore be some areas of the organisation where implementation may take longer. If the department is currently unable to safely accommodate the reduced hours from 1st April, you may be required to work 37.5 hours per week (pro rata for part-time staff) until the department can meet the requirements without impacting patient safety - you will, of course, be remunerated accordingly. NHS Ayrshire and Arran is committed to full implementation of the 37 hour working week across all areas as soon as it is safe to do so
