NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week. The posts are part of the research infrastructure of the BCRF which supports cancer clinical research across NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde. The study portfolio includes early phase/ translational, first in human and phase I-III experimental and advanced therapy studies across a wide range of adult solid and haematological malignancies.
The post holders will mainly work on a range of Phase I to Phase III cancer trials that the BCRF participates in. Main duties of the post will involve the collection and processing of data and organisation of clinical trials in cancer. These posts will also cover some clinical duties such as phlebotomy, recording ECGs/vital signs and QOL assessment which the post holders will receive training for. The posts will be based between the QEUH, NVH and RAH/Inverclyde hospitals. These are 2-year fixed term posts with renewable options.
Applications are requested from candidates educated to degree level or equivalent, with a good knowledge of medical terminology, experience in a paramedical field, or extracting clinical data. Clinical research experience, knowledge of current legislation in the area and NHS environment is essential, experience in oncology field is desirable.

This is a Fixed term post for 2 years, there are full and part time hours available
