Position:
An opportunity has arisen for a permanent Medical Secretary based within Ayrshire Maternity Unit Management Offices.
Hours:
37 Hours per week
What you will do:
To provide a comprehensive medical secretarial service to Consultants and Clinical Teams. You will organise Consultants workload and provide the main point of contact between clinical staff and the service users.
Your primary duties include digital audio transcription within the recognised guarantee times, maintaining and updating the computerised In Patient Waiting list, processing all discharge correspondence timeously, including test results, dealing with telephone enquiries from patients, relatives, GPs, etc and liaising with other internal departments, such as Health Records, Medical Imaging, etc.

Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential for this post, as well as the ability to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team.
You should have a recognised qualification such as the AMSPAR Diploma for Medical Secretaries or an equivalent secretarial qualification, such as RSA or Scotvec. Medical terminology is essential for this post.
