NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week. The shift pattern for this position is various shifts Monday to Friday.

An exciting opportunity has arose to work in a very pleasant, friendly self contained unit within the IRH.
Band 5 Day surgery practitioner required, full time post available. Applicants who have experience within a day surgery environment will be very welcome but all applicants with an interest in day surgery will be considered.
The unit consists of 1 operating theatre, a minor op room, a recovery room and ward area. The unit provides pre, peri and post op care care for patients undergoing a range of surgical procedures including, Gynaecology, Urology, General Surgery, Dental, elective Orthopaedics, plastic surgery and ENT.
In addition to having current NMC registration applicants should be enthusiastic, motivated and have an interest of working in the peri-operative environment. The department offers team support and continuing education opportunities. These posts require PVG Scheme membership /Disclosure Scotland Check.
The successful candidates are required to demonstrate flexibility by working within a service, which runs over a 5 day week. Furthermore, the successful candidates will be expected where necessary to engage in multi-site working within NHS Greater Glasgow and
in order to achieve the needs of the service
