A vacancy has arisen for a Permanent Band 3 Orthoptic office administrator working predominately in the department at the Princess Alexandra Eye Pavilion. The successful candidate will join a team of Orthoptic clinical staff and provide administrative support to the clinical team in the delivery of the pre-school orthoptic vision screening programme across the Lothians. Duties include phone contact with nurseries ahead of vision screening visits and linking closely with the Orthoptic and Child Health admin staff. The role also includes providing some administrative support for the orthoptic manager and deputy to assist in the efficient running of the service plus some admin support for Orthoptist(s) at the St John’s eye department.
Previous experience of working in an office setting in the NHS would be advantageous. You should demonstrate skills in engaging with people and have good verbal and written communication skills.
