We are looking for a highly experienced Advanced Practitioner to provide professional leadership and clinical practice supervision to our Out of Hours Advanced Practice team. Previous primary care or Out of Hours Advanced Practitioner experience and evidence of working in a community home visiting model or a care home visiting model are essential.

This role is appropriate for an Advanced Practitioner who is fully qualified and has consolidated knowledge with a breadth of experience. The post holder will have established an advanced knowledge of managing complex care presentations, providing autonomous and expert assessment, diagnosis and treatment to patients. The post holder will provide direct management of patients and also provide education, support and clinical supervision in the development of trainee ANP staff. In particular this post will support those trainees who will be undertaking house calls and/ or care home visits. Outstanding leadership and educational skills are required to embrace the demands of this dynamic and challenging role. Evidence of a commitment to developing self and others is also essential.

This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of The Out of Hours Service in NHS Forth Valley as we expand and develop the current Advanced Practitioner workforce. A focus on education and the ability to have the flexibility to also work collaboratively with urgent care services between the hours of 0800-1800. with an aim to improve work/life balance for staff and improve pathways and processes for patients who present in the out of hours period will be a key element of this role.

Essential Credentials for band 8a:

  • Significant Advanced Practice Experience in Out of Hours, Primary or Community care
  • HEI accredited clinical courses
  • HEI accredited Independent Prescribing Qualification - V300
  • HEI accredited Clinical Examination & Advanced History Taking course
  • HEI accredited clinical decision-making module
  • Highly developed leadership skills
  • Prior experience in service and / or role development
  • Evidence of commitment to developing others
