Applications are invited for a permanent cardiac physiology post based in the Cardiology Department, Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. The echo service is recruiting as part of a wider cardiology service expansion.  We invite hard-working, competent and motivated individuals to become part of our busy and friendly echo team.  Aberdeen Royal Infirmary is a busy tertiary centre, with 900 beds and a catchment area population of 600,000. 

The position is for an experienced echocardiographer who must be able to demonstrate expertise in advanced techniques such as TOE, stress and contrast echo, adult congenital echocardiography and 3/4D imaging.  An interest and experience in paediatric echocardiography would be an advantage.

The successful candidate should hold BSE adult proficiency accreditation, have Professional registration and a BSc in Clinical Physiology (Cardiology), although an equivalent qualification along with suitable knowledge, training and experience will be considered.

Experienced band 6 staff will also be considered for the post.  Upon appointment they will undergo a period of at least 12 months training and assessment prior to upgrading to band 7. 

In addition to routine cardiology clinics there is a specialist valve clinic, a heart failure clinic, GUCH (Grown up Congenital heart Disease clinic) and a Physiologist led valve disease echo clinic.
