Specialist AHP Wheelchair Therapist
NHS Grampian Wheelchair Service
Band 6, 0.6 WTE (£37,831 - £46,100 pro rata)
Fixed term (Maternity Cover) – secondment will also be considered
Location: NHS Grampian Wheelchair Service, Woodend Hospital, Aberdeen
Hours: 22.2 hours per week
The Wheelchair Service is based in Aberdeen and looks after the wheelchair and special seating needs of around 9000 adult and pediatric patients in Grampian, Orkney and Shetland. We have a vacancy for a Band 6 Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist or other AHP with appropriate experience. You should have an interest in wheelchair provision, physical disability and rehabilitation and will be expected to conduct clinical patient assessments, specify and fit wheelchair and seating equipment and to manage the ongoing care of an individual caseload. Candidates will have a degree in an appropriate health discipline and should have relevant experience of working with patients with a physical / neurological / learning impairment. Training will available for the more specialised aspects of the role. The post is primarily based at Woodend Hospital in Aberdeen but will also involve visiting patients in their home or hospital settings across the Grampian area.
We are a friendly and supportive service that also includes technical and administration staff. The successful candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary clinical team comprising Clinical Scientists, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and Support Workers, and will be responsible to the Service Lead.
Candidates should be HCPC registered (or eligible for registration). Interviews will be held on 15th October 2024.
