National Services Directorate (NSD) plans, funds and co-ordinates national specialist and screening services on behalf of NHS Boards and the Scottish Government Health & Social Care Directorates (SGHSCD). The Directorate is responsible and accountable for the effective management of a number of specialist services, screening programmes, and managed networks that are designated through SGHSCD national commissioning processes. Fundamental to the success of these programmes of work is the use of clinical and other information to drive improvement. The Information Management Service (IMS) identifies and delivers information management requirements to enable the delivery of individual network and project requirements to all of NSD.
The Post:
NSD seeks a Business Information Analyst to provide the IMS with expert analysis and advice on a range of IM&T issues and solutions to inform the development and implementation of an effective continuous quality improvement strategy for networks, as well as providing additional administrative and project support services to the IMS team.
The Candidate:
The postholder, responsible to the IMS Information Manager, will be part of a team delivering a high-quality data, analytical and support service to a significant number of national managed clinical and diagnostic networks, specialist services and screening programmes across Scotland within National Services Directorate, along with other associated projects. The postholder will also provide administrative line management to a team of data analysts with their own individual portfolios of work.
Applicants should be educated to degree level and have appropriate work experience ideally gained in a relevant role within the NHS environment. Knowledge of analytical reporting tools such as Business Objects (BOXI) and visualisation software such as Power BI and Tableau is desirable; as is in-depth working knowledge of standard office software e.g. Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint; and the Microsoft Power Platform.
Location and Working Pattern:
Gyle Square, Edinburgh or Delta House, Glasgow.
Currently hybrid working.
Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week
It is a condition of this employment that you must live and remain a resident within the UK for the post in which you will be employed with NSS.
