NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week. An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) or trainee ANP to join the established, friendly and forward thinking ANP team across the Acute Receiving Units and within the Ambulatory Care Unit and medical receiving units of the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. This is an exciting time in the development of the ambulatory care and acute receiving services, with the ANP role being central in supporting the development of unscheduled care services. We are seeking a highly motivated individual who is flexible, hardworking and professional. The ability to remain calm under pressure is a priority, as well as possessing excellent communication and organisational skills. You must have the ability to work as part of a team as well as to work independently. The post holder will utilise their advanced clinical skills and knowledge incorporating a high level of critical thinking and clinical judgement skills. This will involve working autonomously with high level of decision making and problem solving.
The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work within a dynamic and welcoming ANP and supportive medical and management team. Essential Qualifications: It is essential that you are a Registered General Nurse on the NMC register. Applicants should have or be working towards appropriate Masters level qualification in Advanced Practice which provides evidence of competence in clinical assessment, clinical reasoning, decision making and diagnostics, anatomy and physiology and a registered non-medical prescriber. The successful candidate should preferably be a suitably qualified ANP with experience in an acute medicine and/or ambulatory care setting OR an experienced RGN who possesses the commitment and willingness to undertake the ANP training pathway (Annexe 21) is essential. Annexe 21 will apply until successful completion of the ANP training programme.
