Highland Hospice are seeking an organised and proactive Administrator to join Hospice Services Department. You will enjoy a varied workload, supporting a range of staff and volunteers, as well as being the first point of contact for external stakeholders and patient families. This role is part of a small team who, together, operate with a high degree of integrity and sensitivity whilst providing an efficient administrative support service. This is an interesting role for the right person; the role incorporates a variety of duties for a range of medical, clinical and support staff who operate within the In-Patient Unit and across Community settings.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF Hospice Services Administrator

What you'll be doing... Reporting to the Secretary to CEO and Board, you can expect your working day to include the following: •

  • As one of two Hospice Services Administrators you will undertake a wide and varied administrative role, working with Hospice Services Departments who support patients within our InPatient Unit, as well in a community setting.
  •  A self-starter, you will be accomplished at multi-tasking and using your initiative to plan, prioritise and organise your time and workload.
  • You will enjoy a varied workload, assisting a range of medical, clinical and support staff, ensuring a smooth back office administrative function, allowing teams to focus on patient and client care.
  •  Manage and maintain sensitive and confidential information, ensuring it is handled securely.
  • Understand the value and support offered from Volunteers, assist them with answering any queries they may have.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

  •  A people person, who is able to exercise flexibility and takes pride in producing accurate work, timely and to a high standard
  • Experience of working in a busy office for multiple members of staff, managing a workload with conflicting deadlines
  • Someone who is happy to work using their own initiative but has something to offer as part of a wider team working toward common goals
  • Operates in a friendly and professional manner
  • Be in tune with your surroundings and be able to deal with people who themselves, or a member of their family, are in difficult personal circumstances
