An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Senior Staff Nurse to become part of the senior nursing team at Falkirk community hospital. Training will be provided however we are seeking an experienced ophthalmic nurse who has or is working towards some level of post registration ophthalmic qualification.
The successful candidate will have the leadership skills to enable the day to day management of the service and will possess both excellent team-working and leadership skills. They will have the ability to motivate others and work using own their own initiative. It is expected that they will also be developing or have a keen interest in advancing ophthalmic clinical skills.
The successful candidate will.
- Deliver specialised ophthalmic nursing care including intra vitreal therapy.
- Work with the Senior Charge Nurse to manage and develop the performance of the team.
- Be part of a team responsible for holding the triage phone and directing care.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of the department objectives.
- Assist in coordinating staff and care within the team.
The usual shift pattern is Monday to Sunday 2 X 8.00-17.30with one 8.00-18.00/9.00-19.00 or two 8.30-13.00’s per week however you must be flexible.
