JOB TITLE: Optometrist Advanced Research
Band 7

CONTRACT DURATION: 2-year Fixed Term Contract
HOURS: 14.9 (0.4 WTE)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Optometrist to join the PAEP Ophthalmology Research team based at the Princess Alexandria Eye Pavilion.
We are seeking to recruit a highly motivated and enthusiastic Optometrist, with advanced clinical experience who is seeking new challenges to lead on supporting the increasing clinical research activity generated by our Ophthalmology consultants. These exciting clinical research projects enhance the clinical care of patients with ophthalmology disorders. The post holder will also advise and provide Optometric input to studies by other multidisciplinary specialist teams within NHS Lothian. The post will involve assessing study requirements, screening, and recruitment activities, as well as providing clinical measurements for the research participant whilst they are taking part in the research. The successful candidate will be supported by a well-established research team within Ophthalmology.
The post will also involve working a half-day session per week within the PAEP glaucoma clinics as part of our Hospital Optometry team.
