NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde Research are looking for an individual to take on the role of Quality Assurance Officer within Research and Innovation.
This exciting opportunity will allow you manage the activities of Quality systems across Research and Innovation while engaging with all R&I Staff, Investigators, external organisations, Trial Teams and management groups. You will take on the role of the Quality Assurance Officer to embed a Quality Culture, Assist the QA Manager with the management of Standard Operating Procedures that make up the Quality Management System, report on Quality critical activity and manage key systems to ensure delivery of a quality output.
The ideal candidate will have a background and experience in Clinical Research to understand the working environment, but also importantly in the field of Quality to bring the required approach, methodology and way of thinking to the operations of Research and Innovation. Previous experience of managing systems, databases and running reports will be beneficial.
You will be located in Dykebar Hospital and report in to the R&I Quality Assurance Manager. This role will offer a level of independence to carry out the required functions and ensure all priorities are met. By bringing your experience and skills to this role, you will be able to ensure the smooth running and operation of the vitally important Quality Management System for Research and Innovation which is relied upon for all research activity within NHSGGC.
