RURAL PRACTITIONER

Cowal Community Hospital, Dunoon

£100,883 - £121,102 per annum

(Pro rata for part time practitioners)

Cowal Community Hospital in Dunoon presents the unique opportunity to have a fantastically varied job as a GP Rural Practitioner but only a “whisper” away from Central Scotland.

Drawing on the success of Rural Practitioner models in other areas of Highland, several posts including a clinical lead role and a sexual health role are available in order to create a dynamic team to integrate, lead and innovate the delivery of high quality services for the Cowal Community.

You have the opportunity to make a difference, have your say, help design, shape and facilitate the services in this period of reform. We are looking for GPs who want a hands-on, varied, challenging, stimulating and vital role who can embrace a level of responsibility beyond that of an urban GP and find satisfaction in serving a close knit community.

Dunoon, Cowal and Argyll’s secret coast have been successful in establishing themselves as leading areas for outdoor pursuits and wellbeing; these Rural Practitioner posts offer the prospect of both professional and personal fulfilment.

Full time posts, negotiable for part time/shared working.

Informal enquiries would be welcomed by:

Colin Barrett, Clinical Lead. Tel: 01369 708316 or email colin.barrett@nhs.scot

Finola Owen, Area Manager, Cowal. Tel: 01369 708345 or email finola.owen@nhs.scot

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week. If you have any questions or concerns please contact the Recruiting Board.
