NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay.  This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff.  This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours.  However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.  If you have any questions or concerns please contact the Recruiting Board.

A temporary vacancy has arisen within the Glasgow Psychological Trauma Service, as part of our work with victims of trafficking.

The Glasgow Psychological Trauma Service wish to recruit in a temporary 13.69 hour Band 8a Clinical or Counselling Psychologist until end of March 2025.

As the service awaits confirmation of extension to funding for this project, there is some potential for extension to the tenure and/ or hours.

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde’s Psychological Trauma Service provides a board-wide specialist service to meet the needs of service users with Complex PTSD, through consultation and support to wider services, and through the provision of individual and group therapies.

This role will provide a specialised clinical/ counselling psychology provision within the Glasgow Psychological Trauma Service, which includes specialist and national contracts. The Psychologist is required to provide psychological assessment and high intensity/ highly specialist therapy on an individual and group basis. This post will have an emphasis on psychological assessment for victims of trafficking.

The psychologist will offer advice and consultation on clients’ psychological care to psychologists, MDT colleagues, and third sector partners. The Psychologist will work autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the team’s policies and procedures, across all sectors of care. The post holder will utilise research skills for audit, policy and service development and research within the area served by the Trauma Service.
