The Post:
We are the leading provider of Data Services and Advanced Analytics within the public sector in Scotland. The Data and Analytics Service is a dedicated team of professionals that design, develop, and support integrated data and analytical platforms for NHS Scotland. Our work underpins Scotland’s reputation as a world leader in health informatics.
We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Service Delivery Manager (Department Manager Job Description) to take a lead role in the delivery of our services, projects and products and management of our delivery teams building the data and analytical solutions.
This is a critical role in supporting the strategic direction for better use of data to support service delivery and outcomes across Scotland.
Key responsibilities include:
• Assessing, scoping and estimating demand.
• Stakeholder engagement and management.
• Leading delivery of projects, work packages and business as usual services.
• Ownership of processes and standards that support delivery of our services.
• Pro-actively contributing to service improvement and strategy.
• Line management of team members.
The Candidate:
• Leadership and management experience.
• Proven experience in the business intelligence and data domain.
• Strong and effective communication skills.
• Stakeholder engagement and management skills.
• Passion to make a difference.
• Desire to excel within a high performing team.
• Appetite for lifelong learning and growth.
• Ability to constructively challenge to confidently contribute to overall success of the service.
• Interested in a wide range of topics with willingness to dive deeper into the detail when required.
• Desire to support and develop other members of the team.

Location and Working Pattern:
This post can be based in either Edinburgh or Glasgow.
Monday to Friday, 37 hours - hybrid working options available.
It is a condition of this employment that you must live and remain a resident within the UK for the post in which you will be employed with NSS.
