Position

An opportunity has arisen for a Radiography Assistant based at Ayrshire Maternity Unit – University Hospital Crosshouse


What you will do:

Imaging assistants work as part of the imaging team in providing an efficient and effective diagnostic imaging service. The main role is assisting Sonographers and Consultants to undertake a wide variety of procedures – some of these procedures may be of an intimate nature. Imaging Assistants help us maintain a safe working environment for both patients and staff and help maximise patient throughput in a very busy department.

Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job:

Assistant’s duties are undertaken in all areas of the department and include; caring for patients, room preparation, inputting data onto the department computer system, venepuncture of patients for CUBS screening at 12 week scan, assisting the general flow of patients through the department and general housekeeping. Without Imaging Assistant’s the throughput of patients in our department would be significantly reduced as the above tasks would need to be undertaken by band 7 Sonographer.

UK Driving Licence/Car Ownership:

Car licence/Car ownership is essential to this role.
