An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 3 Health and Social Care Support Worker to join the team and work as part of the Islay and Jura Community Team.
The role will involve assisting registered staff in the delivery of interventions, care and support, which will allow individuals to remain in their own homes and to facilitate early discharge from hospital. The post holder will work with patients/clients in hospital and within their own community setting in relation to identified care plans and goal centred activity, focussing on the key priority areas of maximising independence and supporting the individual to remain in their own home.
Travel will be required to meet the identified needs of patients / service users and this will be dependent upon location and caseload. Car driver essential.
The post holder will be required to work flexibly to cover services on a rota system worked over 7 days a week and including unsocial hours.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
