NHS Fife has a fantastic opportunity for a pharmacist to join our rapidly developing, friendly primary care team in Glenrothes. This team supports GPs practices to deliver medicines reconciliation, acute and repeat prescription requests, medication reviews and other work in line with the GMS contract. There is opportunity for full utilisation of prescribing on a daily basis within the team.
The role involves working with GP Practices as part of a multi-professional team to optimise safe, quality, evidence-based and cost-effective use of medicines.
Pharmacists, and the wider pharmacy team, are embedded as part of the multi-disciplinary team in all practices, to help deliver high quality pharmaceutical care, ensuring patients get the best possible outcomes from their medicines, avoiding harm and waste.
You will be supported by Senior Practice Pharmacists and will work with an expanding and developing team of fellow Practice Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians and Medicines Management Support Workers.
Whilst the position on offer is full time (37 hours per week), part time hours would be considered at a minimum of 28 hours per week. Please note the salary scale for the post is pro rata for part time hours.
This role is an excellent developmental opportunity to give Pharmacists a breadth of experience across the diverse, interesting & engaging clinical nature of primary care. Whilst experience of primary care would be desirable, prospective candidates currently working in other sectors are encouraged to apply as full training will be provided. As an integrated pharmacy service, we run regular staff development sessions on a range of clinical topics, and along with our MDT colleagues, there is regular opportunity to attend wider educational and CPD events.
Fife has something to offer everyone and for further details, please see the attached job pack.
A requirement of this post is to become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme Prior to appointment.
