Applicants must have full GMC Registration, a license to practise and eligible for inclusion in the GMC Specialist Register. Those trained in the UK should have evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT or be within 6 months of confirmed entry from the date of interview. CESR (Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration) route doctors are only eligible to apply for a substantive consultant post once CESR is awarded. Non-UK applicants must demonstrate equivalent training.

This is a substantive post available from 01 October 2024. The post holder will support the current cardiologists in providing a cardiology service to children in Lothian region, South-East Scotland and contribute to out of regional outreach clinics.
The post holder will be expected to diagnose and manage children with heart disease. Inpatient work is predominantly offering consultation and advice to our paediatric intensive care unit, tertiary neonatal unit, oncology service, national spinal service, medical and surgical subspecialty patients, and the acute receiving unit.
The Scottish Paediatric Cardiac Surgical and Interventions Service is based in the Royal Hospital for Children (RHC), Glasgow. The post holder will be expected to participate in clinical duties in RHC including participation in multidisciplinary meetings, outpatient clinics and clinical duties as agreed through job planning.
