We are looking for an experienced dietitian to join the Tayside Nutrition & Dietetic Service Oncology Team on a fixed term contract until end of March 2025. The funding for this fixed term post has been allocated in line with the new Cancer Strategy for Scotland (2023-2033) and accompanying Cancer Action Plan for Scotland (2023-2026) commitment to enhance diagnostics and develop an optimal diagnostic pathway for head and neck cancer.

The post holder must be able to demonstrate relevant experience, clinical reasoning and sound knowledge of the Nutrition and Dietetic assessment, management and long term care of patients living with cancer.

The Tayside Nutrition & Dietetic Service promotes collaborative working across all our teams in different settings and specialities. Internal Applicants – written approval must be sought from your line manager prior to applying for this secondment.  You will be required to bring this if shortlisted for interview.

Hours of work are: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 4.30pm.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay.  This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff.  This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours.  However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.  If you have any questions or concerns please contact the Recruiting Board.
