Modern Apprentice – Clinical Support Worker Higher Level

37 hours per week (full-time)

2 year training (fixed-term) contract

      Band 3 - £25,362 - £27,486 (Annex 21)

NHS Grampian are currently looking to recruit several Modern Apprentices (Clinical Support Worker Higher Level) within a variety of nursing teams in both hospital and community settings including acute, health and social care partnerships, mental health and learning disabilities.

Working alongside Medical and Nursing staff and the Practice Education Team, the Modern Apprentice will be supported to learn how to deliver high quality care to patients whilst working towards gaining a recognised qualification which will enable them to develop towards a future career in Healthcare.

Successful applicants will be employed on a 2 year training contract and will be required to work through a structured training programme towards achieving the SVQ Healthcare Support (clinical) qualification at SCQF level 7. Successful completion of this training / award allows progression into a band 3 HCSW role.

Applicants must be able to demonstrate good communication and interpersonal skills, self-motivation, be enthusiastic, the ability to work with people and have a positive attitude to learning.

A caring and compassionate nature is essential alongside the ability to undertake practical tasks with precision and accuracy. The job is varied, interesting, rewarding and NHS Grampian is keen to support a young person who has the potential and drive to become a valued member of the team.

Five x National 5 qualifications at Grade A, B or C (or equivalent SCQF Level 5 / 6) in English / ESOL, Maths, a Science and two other subjects of your choice.
