We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic physiotherapy assistant to join our Acute and Rehabilitation Medicine Physiotherapy service. These teams are focussed on providing physiotherapy assessment and treatment to a wide range of patients in our medical wards with key aim of enabling individuals to regain independent physical function and be discharged home as soon as possible. As a physiotherapy support worker you will be allocated a delegated patient caseload by the qualified physiotherapist where you will carry out exercises and functional activities as directed by the physiotherapist. In addition you will be directly assisting the physiotherapist in seeing some patients .  You will have an enthusiasm and caring approach and have excellent communication skills.  Previous experience carrying out exercise programmes with people is essential.  You will be able to show initiative and work independently as required.  You will demonstrate excellent time keeping and organisational skills. You will also support the physiotherapy team through a range of non-clinical duties, from equipment ordering, referring patients to primary care teams, to assisting with statistical information collation for patient activity audit purposes.  Physiotherapy Services support staff development through appraisal processes, supervision and CPD opportunities. Candidates must display evidence of clinical experience of work in a variety of areas ideally including Medicine and Medicine of the Elderly, and ideally have relevant / current experience as a band 3 therapy support worker,
