Advertisement for a Healthcare Associate Practitioner 
Salary scale – AFC Band 4
37 hours per week

Our large department (in excess of 80 staff covering a population of approx 540,000) provides a wide range of services for the Grampian Region and beyond and includes a comprehensive range of bacteriology and virology diagnostic tests and techniques. The department is an Institute of Biomedical Science approved training laboratory for HCPC registration and Specialist portfolio.

We are currently looking for an individual to join our skilled and motivated technical team as a Healthcare Associate Practitioner in the laboratory. The post holder will be a permanent member of the Department of Microbiology and may be required to participate in the out of hours shift system.

Applications are invited for this  permanent  post from candidates who possess an HND or degree in Biomedical Science or an equivalent life science subject with previous laboratory experience preferably in a microbiology laboratory healthcare setting. 

This department has UKAS accreditation to ISO 15189 standards. It provides a comprehensive diagnostic microbiology (including virology) service to NHS Grampian, NHS Orkney and NHS Shetland. The post holder will therefore be expected to have an understanding of diagnostic procedures carried out within the Microbiology department.
