An exciting opportunity has arisen for registered nurse to join the CAMHS Response Team within the CAMHS Outpatient Department.
The Service provided is driven by the needs of children and young people across Tayside who are required to be seen for emergency or urgent mental health assessment due to significant distress, deterioration in wellbeing and/or in crisis. These assessments will be carried out across Tayside and often in general hospitals if required.
Using an understanding of normal child and adolescent development, the team will provide individualised care, conducting holistic assessments and considering the most appropriate support options to enable children/young people to manage distress in a more proactive way. The team strives to make sure the right people are involved at the right time, all whilst supporting families/carers.
The Service will also provide on-going support to other professionals within the Public/Voluntary Sector who are dealing with emergency care in relation to their working practice. The team is a supportive and inclusive team who are always willing to support colleagues within different disciplines with crisis management, safety planning and risk assessing.
