We currently have a vacancy for a Vaccination Nurse within the Lochaber area vaccination team
As part of the vaccination team, the post holder will provide an accessible, appropriate, safe, person centred and effective service for adults, pre-school children and school aged children in the community. We work in partnership with care providers and other agencies, including Primary Care, Education, Health Protection and Child health.
The post holder will need to be registered health professional that is able to work under a PGD who will support the Team lead and wider team to provide a safe, person centred and effective quality service.
• The post holder should show evidence of continuing professional development. IT skills are desirable as well as good communication skills and the ability to work on own initiative and problem-solving skills.
• You should be able to work as part of a team
• Car driver essential, driving within town/countryside environments
• Experience of working with adults, children, young people and families/ carers would be desirable
• Previous experience of delivering immunisations would be beneficial
• Completion of e-learning course ‘Promoting Effective Immunisation and vaccination Practice prefer

The usual shift pattern for the position is 0830 -1630 Monday to Sunday, although weekends are rare.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
