The shift pattern for this position is:
- 2 Plumbing Maintenance Technician to join the Estate’s shift teams (Mon-Sun 07:00-19:15 / 19:00-07:15 as per shift rota)
- 2 Plumbing Maintenance Technicians to join the Estate’s dayshift team (Mon-Thurs 08:00-16:00 / Fri 08:00-15:30)
Requirements:
- The applicants MUST be a time served plumber, having completed a recognized apprenticeship, be qualified to SVQ/HNC level (or currently working towards this qualification).
- minimum of 5 years post apprenticeship experience, ideally including a degree of experience working within a healthcare environment.
The successful applicant will be required to undertake and successfully complete the training required for appointment as a Competent Person (L8/Legionella).

While the primary role of the post holder(s) will be:
- To carry out plumbing tasks, they will be part of a small multi-skilled technical team and will be responsible for the delivery of specialist technical services for a wide range of duties in relation to all disciplines of building services, including, but not limited to, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems.
- It is essential that the post holder accepts a wide range of cross trade duties so as to deliver a high standard of service. All cross discipline training will be provided as required.
- Responsibilities to assist with training and education of apprentices and adult trainees, ensuring they gain the necessary training and experience to meet the needs of their training program.
This shift post is eligible for pay enhancements.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
