Public Health Scotland launched 1st April 2020 as a national health board, employing around 1200 people, and with an annual budget of around £101 million. The Post:
An exciting opportunity to support the Scottish Renal Registry / Scottish Multiple Sclerosis Register and the newly commissioned Scottish Fracture Liaison Service and Scottish Robotic Assisted Surgery Audit, has arisen within Public Health Scotland by contributing to the achievement of its aims and objectives of improving patient care, outcomes and reducing inequalities.
These posts are within the Clinical & Protecting Health Directorate of Public Health Scotland and exist to help decision makers make the right decisions for the health and wellbeing of the people of Scotland. These posts will run national audit programmes to help deliver those aims.
The Candidate:
We want you if you...
- Can lead and influence multiple teams in producing, developing and promoting the work of the Scottish National Audit Programme, within existing and new programmes of work,
- Are registered with the Nursing Midwifery Council with experience in clinical audit and quality improvement methodologies or equivalent.
- Can provide expert advice and guidance on clinical audit related matters to both internal, external, clinical and non-clinical stakeholders.
- Have the drive to initiate and manage these national audits, closing the audit loop and using the results to improve direct patient care, outcomes, reducing inequalities and variation.
- Would like to work for an organisation that values the work/ life balance and offers opportunity for your development and progression.
- Have work experience in the field of orthopaedics/ fracture care or robotic surgery then this could be the opportunity for you.
- Exhibit a flexible, supportive, and motivational management style, capable of collaborating with multidisciplinary teams throughout Scotland
If yes, we need you to join the Scottish National Audit Programme as one of our team of National Clinical Coordinators.
It is desirable that applicants are educated to degree level in a life science; hold the appropriate professional registration and have demonstrable experience in clinical audit.
Location and Working Pattern:
The post is based in either Gyle Square, Edinburgh or Central Quay, Glasgow. We are currently hybrid working; therefore, you will be expected to spend time in both PHS offices as well as the option to work at home.
Please note that PHS will be relocating from Central Quay, Glasgow to Bothwell Street, Glasgow by the end of 2024.
Monday – Friday, 37 hours per week, however PHS supports flexible working and we are happy to discuss requests for alternative working patterns.
During times of public health emergency, or other urgent business need, you may be required on a temporary basis to work your normal contracted working hours over 7 days including weekends, in order to meet the needs of the service.
It is a condition of this employment that you must live and remain a resident within the UK for the post in which you will be employed with PHS.
