Management Accountant

The Post:
We are seeking to appoint a Management Accountant to work within Business Finance (Non-pay).
The post holder will play an important role in supporting the Senior Management Accountant to monitor and report actual performance against budgets, variance analyses and year end forecast reports. Identify issues, then propose and agree necessary actions with colleagues to ensure the Directorate operates within the available resource. Providing detailed financial analysis when required to meet the needs of the Business, detailed insight into staffing costs, non-pay costs, income and budgets. Looking at historical trends and future forecasting to inform decision making in both the shorter and longer term.
The Candidate:
You will have an enthusiastic approach, excellent organisation and communication skills and be educated to degree level or have equivalent experience. Experience in business case development and / or financial modelling is highly desirable. You must be able to show initiative and prioritise work, manage your own workload and maintain high standards, with excellent attention to detail. You will be experienced in the use of Microsoft Office applications. You will have a proven track record as a team player and be able to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team. It is vital that you demonstrate the NSS values of working with respect and care, openness and integrity, to focus on our customers, demonstrate commitment to each other and excel and improve. Knowledge and experience of the NHS would be advantageous.
The successful candidate will be required to undergo a Disclosure Scotland check. Any candidate who have lived/worked overseas for more than 12 months in the preceding 5 years will also be required to provide a criminal record check from the appropriate overseas agency.
Location and Working Pattern:
Gyle Square, Edinburgh or Delta House, Glasgow.
Currently hybrid working.
Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week.
It is a condition of this employment that you must live and remain a resident within the UK for the post in which you will be employed with NSS.
