Position:
An opportunity has arisen for two permanent Cooks based at Arran War Memorial Hospital on the Isle of Arran.
Hours:
Post 1 : 19.7 hours per week
Post 2 : 24.7 hours per week
A degree of flexibility is essential, applicants who wish to be considered, must be available to cover shifts within the department between the hours of 0800 and 1700 including weekends.

What you will do:
The kitchen provides prepared and cooked meals for up to 12 patient’s meals daily as well as providing meals for staff and visitors. In addition we provide catering for hospitality and meetings.
Your duties include the preparation, cooking and service of meals including any preparation of therapeutic diets when required. Maintaining a high standard of hygiene, recording and monitoring of data for HACCP and the Environmental Health.

Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job:
You should ideally have experience in catering preferably within an NHS environment and desirable hold City and Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 or equivalent qualification.
You should also have the ability to work off your own initiative as well as work as part of a larger team. Good communication skills are also essential.
